When I was young, I always had an urge to
leave home and see the world. You could think of it as a teenage rebellion and
trust me, I was just super eager to leave home. And now, when I am away from
home, I cannot even justify even a single reason of how somebody could be happy
being away from family. I haven’t been home for the past 5 months and I keep
adding things to my “To-Do List” when I get to go home. But living in Bombay is
worth waiting for.

Bombay Diaries 4: Trip to Pune
Bombay has been fun but I got a chance to
get away from Bombay. This chance came when Radhika invited me to her aunt’s
place in Pune where she was going to stay for the weekend. I had never been to
Pune before and knowing the kind of inquisitor that I am, I wanted to see that
place. We had to leave on Sunday morning and get back on Monday morning. The
journey was a comfortable one and the Mumbai-Pune highway is one exception to
the otherwise badly maintained Maharashtra highways.

Bombay Diaries : Shopping

Shopping. Please imagine this word in
bright blue neon light bulbs and imagine its dazzled effect on the objects
lying around it. That exactly would also be a woman’s response to this term.
Even if a family has gone out on a holiday, the lady of the house will have one
whole day kept separately to raid the local markets. If you go by her logic,
you always find new things at new places, right?

Bombay Diaries -Part 1
No matter how hard you try, you get something only when you are
ready to take it. And it is now, after 6 years of yearning that I understand
the whole idea behind this particular phrase. To come to Mumbai was a dream. To
live here was a desire. A desire so strong that it kept pushing me to try and
try again. And when I least expected it, did I land up here in this beautiful
city of buzz and hustle.
