Punch-nama of Relatives

A wise man once said that cousins are your first best friends. They know everything about you and you can share anything with them but this holds good only till you grow and get married because everyone is honest to the core during childhood but things change with time.

Are we Republic

More than 60 years on, the question uppermost in the minds of all those who have a streak of love for their country is “has the constitution failed us? Or have we failed the constitution? Have we failed the republic or has the republic failed us? “

Religion is Faith

From outside our world is a canopy of exquisite commodities but when you start living in it you realize the beauty was nothing but a strong delusion. When you start inching into this world of picturesque beaches and scintillating rivers you realize how vague our values are. You realize the canopy was fathom and false.

Tea vs Coffee

When you talk about beverages and brews you cannot leave out tea and coffee. The daily life of humans hinges upon tea and coffee to a great extent. Although, there is a lot of history associated with both tea and coffee. If we plunge into data and historical facts, there have been wars for the access of these products.

In the eyes of God

The key to blessedness lies in being aware of blessedness. If your awareness is turned in different directions, towards what you do not have or what you think or imagine you do not have, then this wrongly directed pattern of thought will make you unaware of many things that you have.

With the changing lives and with the changing ideology of life, we all want everything related to us to be different and perfect. You must have heard your girlfriend saying “Let’s do something different or unique on this anniversary”.

Item Songs

Item songs or item numbers have become a part and parcel of every Bollywood movie these days. Looks as if the Bollywood flicks are all about these item numbers- All pump and show! The concept of these item numbers didn’t come suddenly out of the blue, neither did the item girls land in a jiffy from Mars.

What are we

In this world of casual carelessness, it’s discouraging to try to keep our morals, standards and our ideals high. We are ridiculed and laughed at by the smart, sophisticated …who proclaim in brittle banter that such things are out of date.

God is not Baba

It was yesterday when I was in train travelling back to my college. The journey was comfortable with a book in my hand. I was busy reading ‘Connect the Dots’ a collection of 20 short stories based on Entrepreneurship by the Authoress Rashmi Bansal. Intrigued with the title, I was lost in the stories of Entrepreneurs, who were dictating their journey to the Authoress with Extra Intricacy.

Nanny

Coming back from school would feel like such a conquest. Right from thumping down on the couch to be pampered with fruit drinks or stuffed with heavy healthy main course meals, it would be endearing. Although not just as much as then, but now I miss and cherish those little acts the most. The most I miss is my carelessness. Unbothered, ‘cause I’d know she is going to straighten out all the mess I make before I rush down to study for the next day. Needless to say, conclusively I was an irresponsible kid.

Hashtags

We see #tags everywhere these days. On my laptop screen, on my Desktop and even on my cell-phone, the tags are flowing in an arbitrary motion everywhere! Technically, a hashtag is a word or symbol prefixed with a # symbol. A trend that is pretty much in vogue on the social networking/micro blogging websites these days. So if you want to stay abreast with the latest trends, keep tagging the #tags. The amazing thing about these hash tags is the pace at which they have gained popularity and worldly fame!

Are you God-Fearing

In my work as a consultant for India’s richest families, helping them invest their money in real estate, helping them reap profits in these grim times, I have learnt more about human behaviour than anything else. I meet successful people almost every day, something that I love about my job, I get to pick life-hacks from them. Some of them are forth coming and share them with me, others, I have to myself decode.

16 is not just a number

The number sixteen. What’s so special about it? 16 is the natural number following 15 and preceding 17. 16 is a composite number, and a square number, being 42 = 4 × 4. It is the smallest number with exactly five divisors, its proper divisors being 1, 2, 4 and 8. Ha-ha! Yeah sixteen is not mere number if we consider in context of age!

Being 16 is difficult

One beautiful morning when you wake up in your heavily cushioned bed you will have a sense of freedom and excitement. Now things like politics will start making sense to you. Things like gel and fancy clothes will become your priority because a world out there is waiting to judge and criticize you.
These days being sixteen is more about Tuition, Friendship and Relationships.

Teenage as we know, is an age of fire. It’s an age when bad, alluring things attract us the most. We experience a lot of changes in this particular age-period of our lives. Age as they say, is just a random number. You must know how to mould the permutations with numbers.

What you want to become?

What do you want to become when you grow up?’ a grandpa asked his grandson.

An auto driver’ Mike said with pride. The next minute Maria rushed to bang the 5 year old on his back.

How many times do you want me to repeat it? You should say that you want to become an IAS officer when you grow up. Being auto driver is not prestigious. Only poor people do that.’ She warned him and vanished into the kitchen as the cooker kept whistling.

Types of NRI's

“When I was in the air, falling down to the ground at more than a hundred miles per hour – I thought to myself, ‘Gee, this is the end of me.’” Said my cousin Arun dipping the samosa in the imli chutney.
