Uttar Pradesh is a special state and there is no
doubt about it! It’s a part and parcel of this great nation. Uttar Pradesh has immense history
associated with it. Also, the state’s contribution towards the freedom to the
nation is a special thing.
If you live

what it feels like. If you haven’t, here are ten reasons you must come and live
in U.P..
U.P. is ‘Nawaabi’ and ‘Shayaraana’: Yes, the state is a state of the Nawabs.
People here are blessed with immense ‘tehzeeb’

The Shopping Dilemma
With the
changing trends in the general life, trends in shopping are also changing. The
internet is a huge media these days and thus online shopping has seen a huge
boom in the recent past. In a country like India where the fad for internet is
increasing at a rapid pace, online shopping has a huge potential to mushroom!
If you go back a decade in the memory lane, internet was a rare thing and there
were hardly any online shopping sites. The ever changing fashion trends and the
new trends in technology have contributed to the growth of online shopping.
Also, the busy schedules and the rat-race type of lives in the metro cities are
a huge reason for online shopping becoming a huge hit in India. Like all
things, even online shopping has a few pros and cons. Let’s try to analyze a
few of them.

Indian Trucks
The street is full of moments, you just need to have the
curiosity to pick them up! Travelling as they say, is not just about covering
distances. When you travel, you cover cultures, traditions, lives et al. There
is an old Indian belief that says that with every definite number of miles (or
kilometres), the language changes, the custom changes, the tradition changes
and even the physical characteristics of people vary with the changing
distances. Thus, travelling is by all means a extremely dynamic process or
mechanism.

7 reasons to date a guy who drinks
The association of mankind with alcohol has been since time
immemorial! In the words of William James- “The sway of alcohol over mankind is
unquestionably due to its power to stimulate the mystical faculties of human
nature, usually crushed to earth by the cold facts and
dry criticisms of the sober hour.” Alcohol lands you in a different zone
altogether. Yes, you are then in one of those zones where you feel you have all
the authorities to dictate things.

7 commandments from Queen
Bollywood keeps surprising you from time to time. Whenever
you start feeling that they are short of ideas, someone comes up with a
brilliant one that makes you marvel at the sheer creativity and artistic
approach. It is always nice to go for a movie on the weekend, just to refresh
and enjoy a little. The problem is that we don't have many options these days
as far as the Bollywood movies are concerned. As, apparently all of the Bollywood
movies give you the same impression these days. That's why, it is always good
when you get a chance to watch a Bollywood flick that justifies the talent that
our Bollywood has!

This is in continuation of this post -
http://halfbakedvoices.blogspot.in/2013/07/rise-and-rise-of-garbage-bin.html
Last year I wrote an article for Half Baked Beans, trying to
figure out the reasons behind the success or rather behind the ever increasing
success of Garbage Bin. This year I was lucky enough to get a chance to have a
banter with the man behind the grand success of Garbage Bin!

The last few years has seen tremendous rise in the public
interest for reality shows. People these days prefer watching reality shows
over conventional TV shows. This fad for the reality shows has taken it's toll
over the audience irrespective of the age factor. Everyone these days seems to
be all gung-ho about the reality shows. This genre of television programming
has really impressed all and sundry! Reality shows or the concept of reality
television aims at proving the audience a real experience. The genre aims at
demonstrating unplanned and unscripted situations, along with actual
occurrences.

Shakespearean Magic
For me it has always been really tough to believe that
Shakespeare was not born in the modern times. This Cosmic
writer was so much ahead of time. As if, he could foresee and foretell! He
beautifully demonstrated all the human feelings, emotions. Tragedy, Comedy,
Romance, Revenge, Arrogance; you could find all traits in his dramas. The class
of Shakespeare is really rare and special. Let’s try and preserve the
Shakespearean class! After all, you dare shun the Master! Without even an iota
of doubt, he was brilliant when it came to description of human emotions.

Animal Farm- A tribute
It is a story of
my High School days. I was given an assignment to read a Novel and then write a
synopsis of the same. The thought of reading English stuff has captivated me, since
time immemorial. High School days were the days, when I was high on various
aspects. The fad of Bikes kept haunting. I was high on hormones too
(testosterones in particular). Friendship, first love (crush), dreams, board
exams; there were many elements.

Winter is Coming
Time passes and seasons come and go.
Each season bringing new hopes, inspirations and leaving us with memories! The
year is divided into seasons. We have summers, winters, spring et al. Just like
life keeps changing and is never constant, likewise seasons keep changing as
well! It is really amazing that you inure yourself to a season and then you
realize that it’s time for you to adapt to a different season now. In life you
adapt to circumstances but you soon realize that now it’s time to face new
challenges and set new goals. Yes, both life and seasons are all about dynamics
and you have to be on your toes always. Every season brings new hopes and
aspirations.

Why would you read Time's Lost Atlas
A
book is a lot more than just a book. Everyone has his perceptions and his
choice of books. Your choice of books reveals a lot about your personality and
taste. The books which you find at the Kashmiri Gate ISBT are targeted for a
specific audience and those kept in a lavish coffee shop in Connaught Place are
targeted for a thoroughly different set of audience. So, it is pretty difficult
to give a set of reasons for a choosing a particular book. Everyone has his own
reasons! Still, we tried figuring out a few of them.

Voices of a Common Man
A
common man actually represents the nation. He may not be a connoisseur of
politics or economics but it is the common man that makes the nation. No king
or government can afford to eschew the voices of a common. History speaks it
aloud that whenever the voices of a common man have been left unheard it has
brought detrimental consequences. As the famous Latin maxim says, “Vox populi, vox Dei” which means that
the voice of the people is the voice of the God. It is the common man who
brings glory to the nation; it is the common man who works in the fields. The
contributions of a common man to the nation are numerous and immense.

Street food of India
India
has always been a land of ardent food lovers. People in India love eating like
anything. Albeit, the concept of becoming health conscious is getting prevalent
these days but the number of food lovers has not seen any abatement either. In
this era of lavish restaurants and coffee chains, people are missing the
experience of the great street food culture of India. When you love food, it is
always on your priority. As the great George Bernard Shaw said- “There is no
sincerer love than the love of food”. You can gauge a lot about a person by
this eating habits and the choice of food he prefers to eat. Street food also
plays a key role in helping us increase the immunity level of our body.

Babaji ki Booti
Drink
for the nerves and weed for the souls. The song “Babaji ki booti” gained
tremendous attention showing a jeering “Babaji ka thullu” to everyone. The
lyrics and the behooving music are perhaps the main reason for the grand
success of the song. Mankind has been an addict to various sorts of intoxicants
from time immemorial, but “Babaji ki booti” is one of a special kind.
Most of
the intoxicants bring the beast out of a man but “Babaji ki booti” turns you
into a sage or a saint. It makes you detach yourself from this materialistic
world and land in a different zone altogether. The song “Babaji ki booti”
describes how a few puffs of it helps you make worries vanish and overcome all
the frustration of the world. No matter what your problem is- lost love or a
dictator boss, Babaji ki booti is the best solution.
The
song and its video is a quintessential demonstration of frustrated youth. Youth
that is peeved by the hogwash of this materialistic world. The song labels
alcohol as bad habit but “Babaji ki booti” as a natural gift. One of the
protagonists in the video of the song tells his friends that a few puffs and
they will become heroes, their lives will turn into a film and problems will
reduce to zero. He says that the Babaji is wonderful, calling him a source of
pleasure and a force to overcome the sorrows of the world.

Graffiti
Art
is creativity. Art is beautiful in all forms. It is a great way to express
emotions and feelings. A great way to put your perspective and speak out loud
in front of the world! Graffiti is another form of Art which is unique in its
own way. Graffiti is writing or drawing on a wall or a surface in a public
place.
